The Art & Spirit of the Exotic Sports Car

Anyone who has seen the Lamborghini Cars Reventon or the Aston Martin DBS knows that unmistakable feeling. It’s the thrill & the allure of the exotic sports car, overhauled & updated for the 21st century. Since their inception, sports cars have continually pushed the boundaries of both engineering & art. These are the cars that exemplify speed, power and beauty.

Alfa Romeo is the Grandfather of Exotic Sports Cars. Alfa Romeo is first began producing race cars in Milan, Italy in 1910. Their first endeavor, the HP 24, turned some heads with its superior speed and handling. Chief Designer Giuseppe Merosi worked on all Alfa Romeo models from 1910 to 1923. When Merosi retired, race car driver Enzo Ferrari persuaded Vittorio Jano to leave Fiat and take over Merosi’s work.

In 1925, Alfa Romeo unveiled the P2 Grand Prix Car, Jano’s first car with Romeo and widely considered the first “supercar.” The P2 was powered by a straight-8 cylinder supercharged engine, and placed first in 14 Grand Pix races between 1924 and 1930. Today, the P2 Grand Prix is considered one of the most rarified of the collectible antique cars, with less than a dozen still intact.

Ferrari car is popular for it’s high Performance Luxury Cars

After racing Alfa Romeos in the 1920’s & 30’s, Enzo Ferrari decided that he wanted to build his own racecars. He prototyped a few models in the 1940’s, but it wasn’t until after World War II that he found success. Notably, Ferrari’s exotic sports cars took first place in the Formula 1. World Championships, 24 Hours of Le Mans and the World Sportscar Championships throughout the 1950’s. In 1954, Alfa-Romeo had experimented with its first front-wheel drive compact car named “33″

Ferrari’s Gran Turismo series remains its most successful lines, with the 2007 599 GTB Fiorano bringing even more luxury and innovation to the table. Patrons of the Ferrari Club of America cite performance as the primary reason for purchasing a Ferrari over other collectible cars.

Lamborghini : Exotic Sports Cars for a New Generation. Ferruccio Lamborghini had a successful business building tractors in Italy before his eyes turned to the exotic sports car. And it wasn’t a love for performance that stirred his fire, but a disdain for Enzo Ferrari.

According to Lamborghini’s family, Ferruccio purchased a Ferrari 250 GT in the early 1960’s and was unhappy with the handling & response of the clutch. He brought it into Ferrari’s factory and met with Enzo Ferrari to voice his concerns. Ferrari was immediately upset with Lamborghini’s complaints so he mocked Lamborghini and sent him away. Lamborghini went home, dismantled the car and discovered that the clutches installed in Ferraris were from the same manufacturers he used for his tractors. He installed a new clutch and vowed to create a higher-quality, luxury sports car than Ferrari.

Why buy Japanese Used Cars in this recession?

1st February 2009

Who doesn’t love to own a car? However, buying a new car may not be affordable to everyone. Especially during the current recession and the bad economy, many people are not even thinking of buying luxuries like a new car.

Most of these people don’t even think about used cars because of the prevalent misconception that used cars will not be of good quality and would require lot of expenses on maintaining them. However, let me tell you, the used cars from Japan are far off this notion. Japanese used cars will be as luxurious as the new ones and also will not require any special maintenance other than what a new car would need. And on top of it, you can buy a used Japanese car for almost half the price you would pay for a new car.

The clear advantage of purchasing a used Japanese car during a recession is that you can save lot of money. When you buy a brand new car, it starts to depreciate fast as soon as you buy it. On the other hand, used cars have already taken pretty much of the big depreciation. Apart from this, when you purchase a used car, you will also avoid the added fees that most dealers tack on to their cars.

Strict Government regulation is the reason behind the good quality and condition of the used cars from Japan. The Government of Japan requires the car owners to keep their cars in good running condition. Also, the road conditions in Japan are very good, so the wear and tear of the car parts is minimized, and that keeps the cars as good as the new ones. So, there is nothing to worry about the quality of these used Japanese cars. You can buy used cars from Japan with your eyes closed. That’s the degree of confidence that you can keep while buying used Japanese cars.

At Best Trading, we can offer the trust when you a used car from us. Thousands of our satisfied customers worldwide are the best testimonial for our service.

Buy Cheap Used Cars

A second hand car is the way that most people will buy their transport but buying a cheap used car can be a minefield and all sorts of problems can occur. Everything from dodgy paintwork to cranky engines and leaking oil is to be expected. Here is a list of the top ten things to look out for when buying a cheap used car.

1. Check the papers. Check that all the paper work actually matches up with the car that is being presented.

2. The engine. Try and get there 30 minutes before the appointment so that the owner doesn’t have chance to warm up the engine. Check for blue smoke out of the exhaust at start up. This would indicate an oil problem and could be costly. Listen for engine noise, if the engine sounds like it is running to fast the clutch is likely to be on its way out.

3. Exhaust and gearbox. The exhaust note should be fairly quite, if not it could have a hole in it somewhere. The gears should slip into gear easily and should not need forcing at all.

4. Check the brakes are working. Find a steep hill and check that the hand brake stops you rolling away.

5. Lights. Turn all the lights on and walk around the car checking that they are all working. Get somebody else to press the brake pedal and check they work.

6. Tyres. All the tyres should be able to fit a twenty pence into the tread, if not then they will need replacing, this could be costly.

7. Bodywork. Have a good close up look at the body work; it’s very easy to hide reasonably bad scratches with t-cut. Any dents should be easily visible upon close inspection.

8. The mileage. In an older car it often very hard to determine if the mileage has been fiddled with. Ask the owner if they have any older MOT certificates which may have a mileage reading on them.

9. Check the interior for any cigarette burns in the carpet and seats, repairing these will be expensive and most of the time just not practical.

10. Electrics. Check that all the knobs and buttons function correctly on the dashboard, switch the main lights on with the engine running and press the brake pedal, the lights should not dim, if they do it is likely that the battery is dodgy or it could be the alternator.

Buying a cheap second hand car is often the best of not only method of obtaining your transport and it is usually the most economical. Ask plenty of questions and never part with your hard earned cash unless you are 100% satisfied that this is the car for you.

Dougal has owned many cars from old classics to brand new hot hatches. By far the cheapest way to obtain your used car would be through an auction. Stateauctions.org is one of the best sources of second hand cars, they boast that they sell cars starting from $100, try them out HERE

Cheap Used Cars In Good Working Condition
Need a usable car at a low price? Cheap used car auctions are what you’re looking for. They are held regularly at designated places and it’s not hard to find them. All you need to do is to ask your local government or community organizers about it.

What cheap used car auctions do is to sell cars that are second hand but still in good condition, at very reasonable prices. Sometimes these used cars surprise the buyers with their great performance. They can even rival the performance of newer cars sometimes.

If you’re planning to buy a car from an auction, there are some things you should know. Firstly, where do these cars come from? Most of the cars at these auctions are seized or repossessed. This means that governments or banks have seized them from people who have defaulted in paying them back or have committed nefarious criminal activities.

You can any day get a better deal on a used car that is as good as new at an auction than what you would get from the car dealers. So, many people these days turn to cheap used car auction for buying an almost new car at the considerably lower price than he would get anywhere else. Also, you may be surprised to know that there are several car dealers who buy repossessed cars from these auctions and sell them at a higher price independently.
So don’t be surprised to find top-of-the line luxury cars in great conditions being sold at these auctions. They will also be sold at a big discount on the market price, so these car auctions really are a golden opportunity to get the car of your dreams.

Manage your finances and plan your expenses before you go to bid at such an auction. They may be sold at a discount, but they are still quite costly. Set a ceiling price or a maximum price that you are willing to pay for the car that interests you and never bid over that ceiling price.

On the actual day of the car auction, make sure you turn up early. It’s said that the early bird gets the worm, so if you want the maximum amount of choice amongst all the cars at the auction, arrive early. It may also be a good idea to take an expert on used cars with you.
Remember, these cars are second hand or repossessed. This means there could easily be some defect with them. Check them thoroughly both from the outside and the inside. Make sure they are spotless and in working order. Make sure the engine still works. Check for the VIN# stickers that should be all around the vehicle to prove that all parts are real and that it’s not put together from part of other cars.

When your bid is finalized, examine the purchase contract meticulously. If everything is clearly and lucidly termed and all seems to be well, then go ahead and put your signature on it. A used car auction can really be a great place to buy a car!

Car finance news: Prius top of used buyers' wish lists27/05/2008 11:00:09

Following the Prius' top ranking in a customer satisfaction survey earlier this month, sales of the used Toyota model has peaked, according to Carcraft.

The car hypermarket chain reported that following the publication of the survey on May 8th there was a shortage of the used cars, with many customers asking to be placed on a waiting list.

Stocks have now been replenished the company said, but shortages could re-occur if demand continues to grow.

Paul Oakley, Carcraft regional sales director, said: "With the current financial situation car buyers are keen for any independent confirmation that their money will be well spent.

"The JD Power Survey always has an impact on sales of the best scoring model, but this year's demand was unprecedented."

He added that the green credentials of the Prius have also helped its popularity.

In the JD Power/What Car? UK Car Customer Satisfaction Index Study the Prius scored 901 points out of a possible 1,000.
